本纪录片讲述了四个南非种族隔离杀人案施暴者讲述真相、寻求赦免的故事。得到赦免必须满足两个条件：（1）杀人完全出于政治原因，（2）在TRC上讲述真相。在国家政权更替和人权受到广泛侵犯的问题上，Peace与Justice很多时候只能两者取其一，而真相常常是通往reconciliation的唯一途径。
