The Silent Movie Theater has been screening the films of the silent era for over 65 years. It was almost lost to us completely when its previous owner, Lawrence Austin, was murdered in the theater's lobby. This is a documentary film about the passionate and somewhat eccentric individuals who strove to keep the old movies running for audiences in this unique and odd venue. This is a film about obsession for silent film and a love of the theater. 這部電影內容分二部份，第一部份是介紹早期曾拍攝的一部無聲電影(伐本工人)，及家屬對該電影相關事件的緬懷；第二部介紹美國一家無聲電影院幾番換手經營，一直堅持到現在的過程，電影創立之前四十多年是無聲拍攝，放映時在電影院另請樂手現場伴奏，這在基頓的『福爾摩斯二世』影片中可得到印證。默片其實已經包含最偉大的電影中的很大比率，甚至現代的電影都無法超越默片的成就，在現在如此繁華的商業中堅持放映默片電影者，確實令人肅然起敬。
